Hi all.  Here are some pictures of us "helping" with the grape harvest and some photos of one of the wineries we visited.

Ed walking down to the vineyard
                                           A row of grapes

Sharon, Janice, Lori and Ed helping with the picking
Once the pickers fill their red baskets they dump them in this hopper
When the hopper is full, it is dumped into a trailer

When the trailer is full it is taken to the juicer/destemmer
The grapes are dumped into the juicer/destemmer
The juice goes in a pipe in the ground that goes under the road to the vat at
the winery.  The stems are puked out the back end of the machine.  Lori
volunteered to help shovel the stems

This photo shows the pipe going to the winery.
This winery was literally across the lane from our
apartment.  We bought wine and olive oil here.
A view of the house we rented looking up from the vineyard

                                            At the vineyard we visited

Having antipasta before our wine tour

                                            Some very old wine
Part of the tour was through the garden

                                                Another great view of vineyards
